Sound Control Batts

Sound control batts are lightweight, sound-absorbent insulations made of long, resilient glass fibers bonded with an acrylic thermosetting binder. The unfaced fiber glass batts are made to fit standard spacing and thickness of steel stud construction in commercial and institutional buildings. JM sound control batts provide maximum sound control effectiveness by completely filling the cavity wall. These sound control batts are compatible with wood or steel studs in walls and are also used in floor/ceiling assemblies. JM sound control batts can effectively increase STC ratings by 8 to 10 points in certain assemblies. Use of resilient channels can make wall assemblies even more efficient.

WALLBAR™ is a loose-fill type of insulation made from fiberized paper. WallBAR™is designed to be pneumatically injected into the open face of exterior or partition wall cavities. WALLBAR™ installed dry will form a cohesive matt time as the natural migration of moisture (in and out of the wall cavity) activates the internal adhesive. Moisture may be added as an option during installation to ensure immediate activation of the adhesive qualities. Either way, the end result is a custom-fitted, cohesive batt of insulation that provides both high R-Value and resistance to air-leakage. Each bag of WALLBAR™ displays Environment Canada’s “Ecologo”, classifying it as an “Environmentally Friendly” product.

Basic Uses

A thermal or acoustical insulation which may be injected behind a netting, spray-applied or simply installed as a loose-fill. Injection behind netting (WallNET)permits great versatility of use such as in most types of framed wall construction or over head joist spaces and vaulted ceilings. By adding wood strapping the WALLBAR™ net system may also be used to advantage on abroad range of steel buildings….
